Our Business Analyst experience

Just a quick note here today (as I continue the transition from Mat-Su Valley Programming to a new company named just Valley Programming) that I just shared some of my experience as a Business Analyst and writer of software requirements specifications. Some times I fall into the trap of thinking that most Alaska small businesses are just going to be interested in website design, when really, there are all sorts of software applications that can be written, including order entry and point of sales systems, reporting systems, systems to improve business workflows, and much, much more.

This reminds me that several years ago -- before I sold my last computer consulting firm and moved here to Alaska -- I was just about to join the Internal Institute of Business Analysts. I had just started working with the local chapter of the IIBA when I decided to make the move here. At this time there is no IIBA Chapter in Alaska, but as I meet more IT professionals in Alaska, I hope we will eventually have enough people to create a chapter here.
